I may get through this portal, but, judging from the distance between the exit and the ground below, I might not make it.

@Slyf (Guest): Cucumber becomes a pickle.

Wat?

@lern2surture: Who's gonna stay calm, when they're falling to their death?

@TeamSonicPrez: Yeah... 'k. Did anyone (if you didn't see the short trailer I made) expect more proper speech balloons? It certainly looks better than those rounded-rectangle ones I made in Paint.

Simple antialias speech bubbles work too, they look better than the kinda blurred ones in this page.

@Slyf: I made a test comic while I was trying to figure out how GIMP worked, and it had non-shaded speech balloons. They were the same as these, just without the shade.

Trust me. They looked horrible.

They looked like MSpaint bubbles then?

@Slyfer: I used the Rounded Rectangle tool (the rectangles with smooth corners) to make the body of the balloon, then used the polygon tool to make the tail. Finally, I erased the little bit of black left behind from the flat end of the tail inside the speech balloon.

Of course, I built these things around the text, after I had typed it in.

That's how I made them in Paint. This is how I make them in GIMP 2.

This really helped me out. Everything else I found was either horribly explained or took around ten minutes.

A pony. Your character's been turned into a pony. That's new.

@Jarkes: I have it posted on The Epigy of Randomness...

...and one on The Chronicled Sprites of Lugbzurg.
http://lugbzurgsprites.smackjeeves.com/comics/1303025/new-webcomic-this-saturday/

Both of them have comments filled with parasprites and foals who know nothing of logic or common decency, unfortunately.
