What do you mean about these "games", Nova Reach? I really don't think I can really pick anything much up with these hooves.

This week's episode coincides with the debut of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic's third season and contains a cameo appearance by Night Raid of iBrony!

Let's see... what's the most ridiculous, over the top voice that Night Raid could have?

...Linkara's Batman voice?

Anyway, this week I finished watching 'A Certain Magical Index' and I'm seven episodes into the second seson/series 'A Certain Scientific Railgun.'

The English portion available on hulu.com didn't really impress me.

I recommend starting the second series at episode six.

Like most japanese cartoons it suffers from Haruhi Suzumiya levels of perversion.

Also, beware of the gratuitous and completely unnecessary panty shots.

I know I'm not supposed to judge.... In my opinion the performance lacks a considerable amount of talent, and the artwork rivals Sonichu...

It seems loosely inspired by the adventures of Gumball.

However, I honestly think the writing has potential. Which is why I like it better than the opening of MLP.

@GabrielsThoughts: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was out about a year before The Amazing World of Gumball.

@Jarkes: The antagonist had almost no reason to exist. He was pretty much the background, and his only two lines were "Ha, ha, ha, ha!" and "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" But you know what? He really didn't need to do anything. His displays however, were composed of some of the darkest imagery the show has used. Seriously, his body being turned to shadow? A severed head being sucked into a chasm? They're inching further. What also really took me by surprise was the rather mature moral at the end, about self-sacrifice. Didn't see that coming.

I still have a very bad feeling Twilight's going to be turned into an "alicorn" by the end of the season.

@Lugbzurg: We don't know that for certain. All we have are a few posters (or wherever it is that you keep seeing the Twilight alicorn pictures. That somehow I haven't seen anywhere...) and some lines about her "destiny."

Also, I was worried that Crystal Empire would invalidate the fanfic I'm writing (have you had a chance to read it yet?). It didn't. In fact, the "nightmare/worst fear door" is remarkably similar in concept to a scene I had already planned.

@LugZ

So you're saying the reason 'TAWOG' is batter than FIM is because the other one came first?

What does that have to do with the cringe/wince inducing introduction to the show?

what/which fanfiction?

On a side note, I can see the tragedy of self sacrifice being an alternative to suicide and going out in a hail of gunfire... the lesson is that it is not worth doing AT ALL. Unless, of course, there is a 100% chance you are going to die in the immediate future.

Would my non existant parody comic of FIM count as a red herring or a hoax?

On the one hand, I do have it planned out and enjoyed imagining how it would work out too its ultimate conclusion, on the other hand I don't feel like sharing it with anyone to be mocked and ridiculed.

@Jarkes:

I would, but I haven't actually made anything for the comic beyond a shell... and character designs based entirely on FIM would be tacky.

Also, I don't believe I've actually made anything more mean spirited than what one can find in Cracked or Mad Magazine and even those Parodies have crossed lines I wouldn't tread. For instance, I don't really like slapstick or scatological humor. Shadenfreude, Horatian Satire, Tragedy, Melodrama, Romance, and Gallows Humor are more in line with my sense of comedy... who knows I might have pick up some maniacal glee along the way.

My parody would be more in line with an "Elseworlds Batman" or IFC's "Bullet In The Face."

You'll need to be more specific. Remember the subject frequently goes on wild tangents.

Personally, I think you are talking about the mysterious fanfiction I was asking about earlier...

However, LugZ might think your discussing the fanfiction I brought in earlier...

Alternatively, he (that is to say LugZ) might think you're asking for the specifics behind Nova Reach or The Elements of Peace.
