Fillies and Gentlecolts, I warned you that it hadn't even gotten crazy, yet. Well, guess what happened? It just got crazy. Oh, and due to the title and sudden appearance of random rocket thrusters, this is the perfect opportunity to show you all the Fluffle Puff game from Fluffle Puff creator, MixerMike622! Sooo... today's episode.

I thought it was good, but there were two major disappointments for me:

1. Despite the fact that the rest of the mane six are honorary Apple Family members, the only time any of them are seen is during the set-up montage, and Pinkie's the only one with a line.

2. APPLEJACK'S. PARENTS. Despite the fact that this would've been the perfect opportunity to dispel the "Applejack's parents are DEEEEEEAD!" fanon, they're not seen or even mentioned in the episode at all. Hell, even though this fanon annoys me, I wouldn't have minded if the episode CONFIRMED it, as it would've added some real emotion, and they would've at least been MENTIONED.

Oh, well. Applejack's song at the end, as well as Apple Bloom and Babs's interaction, more than made up for it.

Actually... now that I've had time to think about it... today's episode did its best to imply that Applejack's parents are dead without calling attention to it.

1. The shooting stars at the beginning and end of the episode.

2. Granny Smith explicitly says that every Apple Family member is coming to this one. Applejack's parents are nowhere to be seen. Apply the logic.

@GabrielsThoughts: AuraX wanted the exact opposite. The comic needed to pick up on some humor, anyway. I don't recall exactly how I came up with this scene, but perhaps someday, it will neutralize the insipid stereotype upon fluffy ponies that depresses MixerMike622 so much.

Also, we're still alive. And we didn't even need four giants to do it.

@Jarkes:

OOH! I can answer this one.

A Tulpa is an imaginary friend. Either that, or a figment of one's imagination. In the "under a lemon tree" webcomic they were the magical brain babies of a schizophrenic bear. Providing aide for him in his attempts to win over the affections of a cougar. The sequel to the adventures can be found here...

http://www.rhjunior.com/GH/00001.html

Apparently the tulpa are now goblins, and not tulpa, after a journey through space, and a brief stay at a hospital where the protagonist defeated an evil clone of Ronald McDonald.

@Jarkes:
There are several definitions, but this describes it best:

>A tulpa is believed to be an autonomous consciousness which also exists in a self-imposed hallucinatory body, which is usually much of your choice. A tulpa is entirely sentient and in control of its opinions, feelings, movements.

More info: http://tulpa.info/guides/what-is-a-tulpa.html

Basically, a very advanced form of imaginary friend. I aim to force a tulpa with the form of a pony, which normally would take several months.

@Parfait d'Amour:

My question is why? I suspect it wouldn't take much to breathe life into an imaginary person, creature, or universe.

However, the decision to fold it/them into your everyday reality is a questionable one. It's potentially dangerous, although it's your choice, it's probably no more dangerous than creating a character for a role.

EDIT: I've heard of the third man phenomena, if you found out a way to merge that with a tulpa I'd be really impressed.

Companionship, mostly. I often find myself being very lonely.

And forcing tulpae is not easy. You're basically altering some states of your mind and creating a whole new subconscious, so naturally it would take a long time for it to adjust unless you are particularly talented at this or have a dissociative identity disorder.

@Parfait d'Amour:

From my personal point of view, I believe that creating a Tulpa is more apt to reduce the amount of companionship one is bound to have in the future.

I think pets and people take much less mental effort to manage.

Then again, I haven't had many friends, ones that fall into the acquaintance or fair weather variety not withstanding.

I'm at chapter 8 of Paper Mario. I'd probably be close to done, if not for the fact that I had tried to do some Amazy Dayzee grinding and also attempted to get ALL the Chuck Quizmo quizzes, other Star Pieces, and Badges that I could get. Yes, but creating something where the audience has no control over what's happening can also be problematic.

No two people will have the same experience with a game whether or not the game is a point and click or free choice.

Every video game has some fatalistic direction towards which it is going for.

The real trick would be to create a game that induces selective memory of the preceding events or alternatively inducts the player into accepting the limitations of the gameplay.

So, anyway, I did indeed get Paper Mario: Sticker Star for Christmas...

It's fun, though like many others, I'm a little disappointed by the distinct lack of story, partners, and even a real experience system. Though it is cool to see characters such as Bowser Jr. or Kamek in a Paper Mario game.

Speaking of Kamek, there's a strange continuity error regarding him in the game. When you first encounter him, he explicitly says that he's just met Mario. Anyone who's played Yoshi's Island knows that this isn't true. It COULD just be a subtle nod to the fact that this is his first appearance in a Paper Mario game, but still...
