So I just ordered a PS3 from Amazon.com... It was bundled with Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and the Ratchet and Clank Collection. I also got Sonic Generations (inb4 we get into the same argument we've had fifty times about that game).

@Lugbzurg: Please tell me you don't SERIOUSLY think Sonic '06 was better.

Sure, it TRIED to be like the Adventure games, but it failed epically because it was broken and glitchy as all hell, and had a terrible, nonsensical story on top of that. While Sonic Generations may not have the best story either, it at LEAST has fun gameplay that doesn't feel like an exercise in masochism. Its version of Crisis City is actually legitimately challenging, for one thing.

But really, we go over the same points of debate every time this comes up. Can't we just agree to disagree?

EDIT: Also, I don't really understand the second part of your comment.

@Lugbzurg: I agree with you on 4 and Free Riders, and somewhat on Unleashed (Unleashed is half of a good game), but I think you're one of the only people I know of who thinks that about Colors and Generations. Mainly because, while I'll admit there ARE some issues with those games (schizophrenic difficulty in the case of Colors, and not many bosses in Generations), at least they're PLAYABLE.

But seriously, we get into this debate way too much, and we always go over the same points. Though I suppose this is my fault...

@Jarkes: Playable? Yes. But much less playable than Sonic '06. Unlike the rest, Sonic '06 wasn't playing itself all the time. Also, the paths weren't narrow as hallways. There was also pacing. And much better enemy verity, as well. Also, it contained a story that you couldn't predict the ending of before starting the first level. And multiple playable characters And there was actual effort put in it. '06 vaulted over the bar set by Unleashed, but failed to grab it's own, much higher, bar. I always thought Sonic '06 hit rock bottom. Well, if that's the case, then the rest of the games have sent Sonic burrowing underground.

@Lugbzurg: The story may have been unpredictable, but that doesn't change the fact that it was still a bad story, with numerous plot holes and overall idiocy on the part of many characters.

As for "actual effort" being put into it... I suspect that there was when development began, but then it ended up getting rushed to be out by Christmas of that year (though to be fair, that wasn't Sonic Team's fault).

As for pacing and not playing itself a lot of the time (I'll admit that Colors and Generations have moments like that, but they tend to be limited to the boss battles and a few levels)... Mach Speed segments. That is all.

As for the multiple playable characters, most of them in Sonic 06 have broken physics and gameplay. For example, why is Tails's attack a fake ring bomb? Oh, right, that was a PLACEHOLDER that got left in BECAUSE THE GAME WAS RUSHED. And the use of the Havok engine is probably the most poorly implemented use of it ever, ESPECIALLY in Silver's levels.

I'll give the game exactly one bit of credit: The music was typical awesome Sonic music. Except for when it outright stole Crash Man's theme from Mega Man 3.
