Bad news, everyone!

I'm having a bit of trouble here. The computer that has everything I use to make comics is currently out of commission. I was trying to play the new Brutal Doom mod (v18a) and it was lagging a bit. So, I tried to turn the visual settings down, which somehow altered the refresh rate of my monitor to a point that it can't process. Now, I can't even stay on my own desktop for more than about 15 seconds before the whole screen goes dark and I get an 8-Bit message reading "Out of Frequency Range". In other words, for the time being my computer is, at the moment, thoroughly useless! If this problem can't be fixed soon, Serendipity will have to be kept on hold until further notice.

And we were just getting to Page 100!

Slight bit of good news, everyone!

(Ok, I still haven't seen a full episode of Futurama, just so you know...)

I should be able to contact my local computer repairman today about my computer troubles. I've checked online for the solution and have come up with nothing but defective instructions. Is the answer in Properties? Nope. Is the answer in the Control Panel? Nope. He might be able to help with the issue here.

Also, I checked the tracking for my new computer on Fed Ex's website, and it should be arriving at my house in a few hours.

BUT... when I tested the new monitor on the old computer (got it just under a week ago), it was extremely zoomed in. This isn't a resolution error. This is before I've even gotten to the desktop. This is on the "Select a User" screen. So all I can see with the new monitor is the "Turn of Computer" button. All I can do is hope that this problem doesn't persist with my new Windows 7.

Wow! I don't think I've ever had an aspect ratio problem. I've only ever had to go into a best buy once to fix one of my laptops because it wasn't working after I reinstalled the operating system.

I keep back ups of everything including software. I still have the PSD files of all my comics, so I could upload it dialog free if I wanted.

Reasonably-better news, everyone!

The new computer arrived yesterday evening. The sound didn't seem to be working at first, but it's great now. I still have to figure out how to get it to connect to the internet. It recognizes my modem/router/whatever, but it's just not connecting.

I finally figured out how to manually trigger the boot-up screen on my old computer that would allow me to "Start Windows normally", "Start with your most recent settings that worked", "Run in safe mode", etc. I opted for safe mode. So, I can use the old computer again to a reasonable degree. (No sound, though.) I can still make a file transfer from it to the new computer and bring comic files downstairs to a computer that is connected to the internet. This also means I'll never have to wait 45 minutes to click on the Pen Tool ever again!

@GabrielsThoughts: Or if you wanted to translate them.

@Lugbzurg:

MY GOD! How many viruses does that thing have? Are you sure you want to link it to the other computer before you've got better antiviral protection?

EDIT: Translating is a bit sticky. Granted, If I let someone else do it I'm bound to get "samurai pizza cats" and "ghost stories" quality work, __because__ if they don't perform; I will track them down like a rabid skunk with bionic fart blasters.

However, because translating my work requires a level of trust and/or financial expense, not to mention enough respect for the creative process to not exploit my generosity and make a cruel mockery of my painstakingly under appreciated efforts. I'd prefer to translate it myself, into Spanish at the very least.

Unfortunately, I have some financial restrictions and I'd rather know a language other than slave spanish and what "hollywood insiders" consider low brow American english.
